Charles Wellbeloved Award
This award (of £100) is made annually by the Society to the student at York University who in the University's view has been their most outstanding student and has submitted the best treatise on an archaeological subject during the year.
Herman Ramm Memorial Travel Bursary
An annual bursary (of £200) is awarded by the Society to perpetuate the memory of Herman Ramm OBE, MA, FSA (1922-91). The object is to enable an undergraduate studying archaeology in a United Kingdom institution of higher education to participate in an archaeological investigation relevant to their studies. Applicants' secondary education must have been in the YO postcode area, unless their education was residential outside the area, in which case their home must have been in the area.
Research Grants
Grants are available from the Society to aid independent research or exceptional publication costs. Special consideration is given to applicants working in the County of Yorkshire and the work should fall within the aims of the Society: "The promotion of natural science and the study of archaeology and antiquities in the County of Yorkshire and elsewhere"
