Tempest Anderson Hall
The Tempest Anderson Hall is a lecture theatre attached to the Yorkshire Museum and is the venue for the main series of lectures organised by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society.
It was originally built in 1912 from funds provided by Dr Tempest Anderson after whom the hall is named.
The auditorium has a capacity for seating up to 300 people and is equiped with electronic audio and visual presentation facilities.
The lecture hall is available for hire from the York Museums Trust. For further details please visit the York Museums Trust Website.
From October 2009 onwards, the Tempest Anderson Hall will be closed for the duration of major renovations to the Yorkshire Museum. YPS lectures will be held in the Hospitium in the meantime. We look forward to returning to the newly refurbished Tempest Anderson Lecture Hall in 2010.
